Six Trees Ventures LLC exists to help accelerate this transformation by connecting promising companies with investors who have deep operating experience in financial services and technology. Together, we can create greater efficiency, transparency, and value for financial institutions and the clients they serve.
Our History
Six Trees Ventures LLC was formed as the investment arm of Six Trees Capital LLC, the financial technology company that developed MaxMyInterest, a pioneer in the advancement of online banking.
Six Trees Capital LLC holds several patents related to cash optimization, streamlined account opening, and multi-factor authentication, and has been an innovator in open banking and banking-as-a-service business models.
On March 31, 2021, Six Trees Ventures LLC was spun off into a separate entity to expand its ability to invest in fast-growing financial services and financial technology companies.

With more than a dozen years of combined operating experience leading a financial technology company that interacts daily with many of the nation’s leading banks and their fintech vendors, we understand the challenges faced by young companies and incumbent banks.

Gary Zimmerman
Gary is Managing Partner at Six Trees Ventures LLC and Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MaxMyInterest, where he leads the strategic direction of the firm. Prior to founding MaxMyInterest, Gary was an investment banker at Citigroup, where he was a Managing Director and Global Head of Strategic Solutions for Sovereign Wealth Funds, responsible for advising these funds on their direct investment activities globally. In that role, he spent considerable time in Europe, the Middle East and Asia advising funds with more than $5 trillion of assets under management. Previously, Gary advised companies and private equity firms on mergers & acquisitions at Citigroup, Societe Generale and Merrill Lynch.
Gary graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in Economics, and subsequently completed an executive education program at the Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.
Celene Menschel
Celene is Chief Operating Officer at Six Trees Ventures LLC and is also Chief Operating Officer at Trenchcoat Advisors, a cyber security advisory firm.
Previously, Celene was Chief Operating Officer at MaxMyInterest, where she was responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of Max, including supporting relationships with banks, wealth management firms and other external partners; managing Max’s customer success program; and identifying new areas for growth.
Prior to Max, Celene worked at Goldman Sachs, in Investment Banking. Most recently, she was in Goldman’s Family Office coverage group, which served clients at the intersection of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Private Wealth and Investment Banking. Prior to that she was a member of the Consumer Retail Healthcare Investment Banking team, where she advised companies on their capital structure needs.
Earlier, Celene was an analyst at Fortress Investment Group. Celene graduated cum laude from Harvard College and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
